Meeting - 24 September

It was great to see Richard Starke at the meeting, along with former member John Skene and Arie Hutflesz.  Arie is new to Waikanae and she is very keen to be involved in community service.  Welcome Arie.

At the meeting we agreed to support Starlight.  This is a group of volunteers that supports mentally ill patients in hospital, and the community by providing welcome packs and gifts.  A donation of $1,500 was agreed for their Christmas gift packs.

Waikanae Rotary artefacts update

We've manage to find homes for most of our "kit".  The lectern is heading for a Probus Club - thanks to Gary McElhinney.

The Kapiti Museum has taken the bell, gavel and one of the club banners.  We also going to provide them with a phot of the foundation members.  The badge box is going to the Waikanae Central Probus club, as their badge box is "falling to bits".

We're keeping the honours board, large aluminium Rotary wheel with stand, and the pull up and tear drop banners along with some bits and bobs from within the lectern.
