The meeting

This meeting focused on Club Projects that we are/were planning to run over current Rotary year.  Members present looked at these projects in a bit more detail:

  • Model Rail Project
  • Healthy Heroes
  • Town meets Country

These projects will require a significant amount of planning and resources to run.

The group noted all the other work done by the club:

Rotary Youth Enrichment Programme (RYPEN); Rotary Youth Leadership Award (RYLA); Rotary Summer Science Forum; Lifting the Lid - Youth Suicide prevention project; Emergency Response Kits / Shelter Boxes; ;Rotary Reading project (Waikanae School); Foodbank Collection project; Tertiary Scholarship award; Annual prize Giving - Waikanae and Kapanui Schools, Paraparaumu College;

President Robert advised project profiles would be created for each project and store them in a Google Docs folder so all members can access the information.  Members should expect an invite by email to access this area.

Parting Thought

Graham Oliver quoted anonymous -

"If you can start the day off without caffeine
If you can always be cheerful ignoring aches and pains
If you can resist complaining to people about your troubles
If you can eat good food every day and be grateful for it
If you can understand when your loved ones are too busy to give you time
If you can conquer tension without medical help
If you can take criticism and blame without resentment
If you can relax without alcohol
If you can sleep without drugs
Then you are probably the family dog
Handle every stressful situation like a dog
If you can't eat it, or play with it, then pee on it and move on!"
