The meeting

Campbell Foote and Lucia Cameron, two of our sponsored students to RYPEN gave us a presentation of their time at camp.  Unfortunately a third sponsored student, Blair Smith was unable to attend the meeting.
We also had Campbell's father, Lucia's mother Lucy as well as Cathy Lawry from the college who is responsible for organizing things at the college end as guests for the presentation.
The theme for the camp was....
Rotary Youth Program of Enrichment (RYPEN) is a weekend residential experience for youth aged 14-16 designed to develop skills that will assist them in the transition to adulthood.  Participants are involved in a variety of workshops and activities, which provide an opportunity for them to personally develop, gain self confidence, communication skills, challenge themselves, build friendships, and develop life skills.
Based in Inglewood, the camp is well out of cell phone range.
There were guest speakers covering a range of topics.
Lucia and Campbell both made many friends and and would highly recommend the course to others.
The one thing Campbell and Lucia both said was make the camp longer.  A weekend is too short.
In thanking Rotary for sponsoring Lucia, Lucy said there was a noticeable difference in the two of them when she picked them up after the weekend.  Both were buzzing.
David Bruce thanked Lucia and Campbell for their presentation.
